The best way to find a reputable landscaper or landscaping company near you is by word of mouth. Ask your colleagues if they’ve worked with a company they’d recommend. Another good source is reading online reviews, and checking out company websites to see what kind of projects they’ve worked on. Once you’ve narrowed it down, you can set up a consultation with each company. That way, you can learn more about their values and services, and choose the one that aligns with your project’s needs.

Commercial Lawn

Being on our mowing route assumes you for service each week. We understand that you may not need service when the grass dries out and grows slower. Thus, we do allow two skips per season.

Our basic mowing service does not include bush trimming. But, you can choose one of our lawn care packages, which includes routine bush trimming and mowing. A different crew would perform bush trimming on a separate day from your mowing service. Separating these services allows our crews to be more efficient so they can complete all our mowing clients on a timely basis. We do offer bush trimming as an à la carte service.

We’re on site every week, but suggest doing a walkthrough at least quarterly with customer.

We offer a 5 year warranty on patios and retaining walls. Plants and lawns have a 1 year warranty. All other services have a 2 year warranty. The plant and lawn warranty can be extended up to 5 years as long as your landscape is continually maintained on a weekly or every-other-week basis by MAPM.

Yes. We provide free estimates for all of our services. For landscape design, installation, hardscaping services, snow, and tree services, a free on-site consultation will be provided to determine the scope of your project. From there, a free proposal for services will be sent via email. It usually takes about 24 hours to 14 days to receive the proposal depending on the complexity of the project. For landscape maintenance services, a free on-site meeting will be provided to assess your property and needs. A proposal is typically provided within 24-48 hours after the meeting.

Our basic lawn mowing services do not include weed pulling. However, you can choose one of our landscape maintenance packages, which includes routine weed pulling and mowing. We also offer weed pulling as an à la carte service.

Absolutely! Every living plant does its job to filter carbon dioxide out of the environment — one tree alone can remove 26 pounds of CO2 annually, equaling about 11,000 miles of vehicle emissions. Plants also help keep debris and pollution out of our water supply. On top of that, trees that cast shade on your home will keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, giving your air conditioner and heating units a break. If you’re thinking about planting additional trees, shrubs, or flowers, they will all benefit our environment in their own unique way, so go for it!

With a few DIY techniques

  • Keep your garden clean. Pick up plant debris, remove dying stems or branches, weed the area regularly, and toss the debris in the garbage.
  • Fertilize just enough to keep your plants happy – too much fertilizer promotes weak growth which is susceptible to disease.
  • Wait to plant until the soil is warmed up. Planting to early will put extra stress on your plants and make them more susceptible to disease in the soil.
  • Use mulch to keep weeds at bay and harmful fungi in the soil away.
  • Inspect and remove infected stems and leaves. As soon as you notice signs of disease, carefully remove the leaf o stems and throw it away as soon as possible. By removing disease early on, you can help your plants to continue to grow healthily.

This is a tough one. The conditions that are good for plant growth are naturally good for weed growth. But, there are steps you can take to prevent weed growth early on, and remove weeds if they do appear. First of all, use a landscaping fabric in your flower beds and garden to cover the soil where you don’t want weeds to grow. Then use a weed preventer, such as Preen, to further discourage weed growth.

Either 8-12 amortorised equal monthly payments or Fee Service. Pay for what was rendered that week or month.

Pricing is based on the estimated amount of time that will take our team to complete your grass cutting. Things that will affect the estimated amount of time include property size, property layout, current landscaping condition, the complexity of the landscaping, and your requested scope of work. Give our office a call for your instant lawn mowing quote!

Our most common lawn mowing schedule is once per week.

We prefer to mow lawns at a height of 3.5 inches.  This is the ideal height for turf type fescue grass to be cut at and the lawns in eastern Pennsylvania are perdominately fesuce lawns.

We can mow as low as 3 inches upon request.  We do not recommend this as it increases the potential of your lawn getting ‘burnt up’ over the summer months.

No Problem most of our customers have us handle both their mowing and snow/ice removal services.  Contact us today to learn more about our seasonal contracts,

Maybe.  It just depends on what time you call and where are crews are working that day.

If we can fit your lawn in, we would be more than happy to do so.

We do offer different mowing schedules. Still, our weekly mowing schedule is our most popular and will provide you with the most value. In the Spring we highly suggest our weekly mowing service because the grass tends to grow so fast. If your lawn becomes too long, the city or township could fine you.

We work four tens pending on weather. No weekends unless scope of work dictates differently.  We prefer to have our crew fresh and ready to go for their workday.

Our lawn care business uses routes based on geographic areas, similar to your trash pick-up service. When you sign up for service, our office staff will let you know what day of the week you can expect our crew.

That’s why we work four tens. The fifth day acts as the rain date.

Our basic mowing service includes cutting the lawn, fine line trimming around obstacles, borders, and blowing grass clippings off paved surfaces. More importantly, we keep our lawn mower blades sharp, and we will alternate mowing patterns every week to ensure a fresh cut lawn.

If you call or email our office 24 hours before your mowing day, you can cancel service for that week. We will come the following week to cut your lawn.

In the case of a rain delay, we will automatically reschedule your home as a high priority the next mowable day.

Our base pricing is valid for grass up to 6 inches in total length. Most lawns with routine maintenance each week grow less than this amount. If you have an actively growing lawn or have not had your lawn mowed in a while, it may be over 6 inches when the crew comes to perform that service.

We require our crews to provide a completed, professional job to our clients. To do this in tall grass, we may have to mow over the property twice, slow down, and bag or rake up clippings. Lawns between 6-9″ may be mowed on your regular service day, but will incur additional charges to account for the extra labor and equipment wear. Usually, this is twice the base rate for that visit.

Our weekly lawn mowing teams cannot service lawns over 9″ tall. We consider this “field mowing,” and can send a particular crew to your home to mow it down to the proper length. Pricing for field mowing varies, so please ask before signing up for it. It is important to note, the measurement our crew takes on your lawn is at an average looking location, on the day of service, and not the day you sign up for service.

If your mowing date falls on a holiday, we will reschedule your property as a high priority the next mowable day. Sometimes we may be able to shift our schedules to service your property before the holiday. In this event, our office will send you a notification of the service date change.

Every mowing service we perform includes mowing the grass, trimming the edges, edging the borders, and clean up.  We are not going to leave your lawn until it looks great!

Modern landscaping refers to the designing, planning, and construction of gardens and other features that both create useable space for outdoor activities, and enhance the appearance around a home. Landscaping includes hardscaping and softscaping, although many people refer to them softscaping and landscaping interchangeably. Hardscaping would be the aspect that includes non-organic materials such as stone and woodwork, retaining walls, decks, firepits, and more. Softscaping would then refer to planting designs, creating burms and grading, and mulching. Mid-Atlantic Property Maintenance does both landscape and hardscape design in Southeast Pennsylvania.

There are many benefits, including:

  • Helping the soil retain moisture
  • Contributing to soil health as the breakdown of the mulch happens over time
  • Blocking the sunlight to pesky weeds, helping to keep them at bay
  • Repelling insects, depending on the type of mulch used
  • Controlling soil erosion

Commercial, Federal & State Government, and Municipality.

Landscaping takes part in cycles throughout the year. Generally, spring is the best time for prepping and planting flower beds, and beginning hardscaping projects. The summer construction season is when the majority of large landscaping and hardscaping projects are done. Fall is then a great time for planting trees and bushes since temperatures are lower. Hardscaping also continues through the fall until the ground freezes or it begins to snow.

Annuals grow for one season, and then die when the weather gets cold. Perennials grow for multiple seasons, and regrow every spring after being in dormancy during the winter. Examples of popular annuals in Pennsylvania are pansies, snapdragons, petunias, geraniums, salvia, California poppy, violas, and many more. Some perrenial examples are daffodils, phlox, peonies, purple coneflower, daylilies, black-eyed susan, Virginia bluebells, coral bells, hostas, and more.

With few exceptions, any time of year is great for starting a landscape project.  When it comes to design, if you want to have your yard installed and ready to use for summer, you’ll want to start the process as early as possible – preferably in the fall or early winter months. During our busiest time of year, it can take up to 6 months to start a design/build project (that does not include the time it takes to actually install your project). Additionally, if your project requires rototilling (sometimes required for new lawns or planting beds), we can not do this if the soil is wet, so this is another limitation. Lastly, although most plants are available year round, some plants are not available in the winter.

Aeration should take place during high growth periods. This is typically during the cooler times of the year when there’s plenty of rain, mainly the spring and fall. Aeration puts stress on the turf, which could be detrimental when the turf is highly stressed already due to high heat and periods of drought. At Mid-Altantic Property Maintenance, we recommend fall aeration with overseeding to loosen the soil and develop new growth at the same time. Aeration is great for any lawn, but especially if it gets a lot of foot traffic, is part of new construction with compact soil, or is part of thatch management/prevention program.

Whether or not you hire a professional is up to you, but paying meticulous attention to your lawn will provide a multitude of benefits. It’ll give you a great space for your family to enjoy, increase the value of your home, provide oxygen to the environment, and cool down the area around your home, making your air conditioner’s job easier.   An established lawn will also have a deep root system that controls erosion, runoff, and the purity of water that is funneled into the groundwater supply. Healthy lawns can trap the dust and impurities that we want to keep out of that.

Yes, our basic mowing service includes using a line trimmer (also known as a weed wacker) to trim grass against the driveway, sidewalks, and hardscapes. Our crews will not use a weed wacker against obstacles like fences and playsets, to avoid any potential damage.
