Position Summary:

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be responsible for the sales growth within an assigned regional territory. In conjunction with company management, you will work to develop and implement sales strategies for your market. You will perform activities such as prospecting, leading sales opportunities, generating company awareness through association involvement, use of social media, and other activities as required to generate sales. Our BDMs also assist with customer service, project implementation, logistics and other industry related functions.

Essential Functions:

To successfully fulfill this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative, not all inclusive, of the skill and ability required.

New Business Development:

  • Develop and coordinate new strategic customer sales and relationships through the generation of new leads and penetration of key accounts.
  • Navigate target accounts at various levels to create opportunities with target organizations and properties
  • Drive sales process from initial contact through strategy, proposal, presentation & successful conclusion of new business opportunities
  • Exercise creativity and independent judgment in developing and evaluating sales and marketing strategies in selling broad portfolio of services within a defined market
  • Identify needs and client business objectives to develop customer specific solutions for those needs
  • Leverage resources from across company in order to deliver desired outcomes
  • Take an active role in representing M&M in the marketplace and various industry organizations and events
  • Develop and maintain customer data base of key information on target clients (organizational structure, key contacts, business strategy, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed established new sales goals
  • Ensure new customer accounts are successfully transitioned to the operations team

Administrative/Other:

  • Daily up keep of all sales tracking information in specified systems
  • Daily up keep of individual monthly forecast planner
  • Responsible for utilizing standard contract procedures, timely sign up, filing and billing
  • Serve as the liaison between the customer and operations team during the client on boarding process

Desired Skills & Expertise:

  • Solution-based selling experience in which you have aligned and become a strategic solutions partner to uncover and fulfill client needs
  • Experience in successfully building relationships and influencing key decisions makers (of all levels)
  • Strategic sales planning and methodologies for securing large contracts
  • Selling facility maintenance/ management, business support services, or business process outsourcing solutions
  • Financial acumen in understanding client operations and developing cost effective solutions
  • Demonstrating competitive drive & determination, and results to support
  • Demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and computer skills
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to help foster and develop relationships that will continue to help grow the business base and create opportunities for future growth.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to generate customer solutions and proposals that are on point, creative, and that stay consistent with the brand image of the company.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to network with and facilitate the networking of large groups of company personnel with industry and trade contacts within the marketplace.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior sales experience within a relevant industry
  • Minimum education of a two-year degree in a business-related field and/or 5 years’ experience selling landscape & snow removal services
  • Experience selling to property/ facility management is preferred but not required
  • Other Requirements:
  • Cell phone with unlimited minutes and data for daily communication
  • Vehicle for prospecting and sales
  • Availability M-F 8am-6pm & weekends and evenings during winter, as needed

Landscape Maintenance ~ Crew Leader Job Description

Crew Leader

We are currently interviewing qualified candidates for open crew leader positions to join our rapidly growing company. If you’re looking for a career in the landscape industry with opportunity for advancement then we want to talk to you. A brief description of a typical work day will include the following:

Report to Mid-Atlantic, LLC’s facility daily M-F by 05:45(We shoot for M – TH 10 hr days weather permitting) . Load your assigned equipment and tools on to your assigned truck and trailer. Perform basic truck and trailer check verifying: light functionality, correct hookup, fluid levels, air pressure, safety items & paperwork. Perform basic equipment check verifying: fluid levels, air pressure & working order. Crew members will clock in at 06:00 to help you finish these tasks. It is anticipated that all crews will be out of our facility by 06:10. You will report to the site assigned to you in your weekly schedule and begin working. You will work with your crew to complete the daily assigned tasks and ensure satisfactory completion, quality and that all safety provisions are being followed. You will be responsible for clocking in yourself and the crew on a cellular device. At the end of each day you’ll report back to Mid-Atlantic’s facility in Lansdale. Your crew will remove hand held equipment and clock out. You’ll fuel up the truck and equipment at the end of each day, store your equipment and park you truck and trailer. Crew leaders typically work 38-40 hours each week; four 10-hour days. The fifth day and weekends are reserved for weather or seasonal demands. Crews leaders will wash their assigned: truck, trailer and mowers weekly and clean the inside of the truck weekly. Crews report for work daily with a lunch, water and anything else needed for the day. Crews are not permitted to stop anywhere other than assigned sites.

Daily work assignments include, but are not limited to: driving, weed wacking, mowing, trimming, pruning, digging, chopping, pulling weeds, spraying, watering, lifting 50lbs, wheel barrowing, chipping, raking, mulching, edging, planting, excavating, installing, cleaning, splitting wood, operating power equipment, etc…

Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader:
Position requirements:
3+ years in the landscape maintenance field (commercial grass mowing and trimming).
Clean PA drivers license (minor citations okay).

Ability to drive truck and trailer.
DOT medical card (can obtain after hiring).
Ability to manage a 3-4 person crew daily.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Responsible for assigned equipment and vehicle.
Company uniform daily: company provided shirts, employee responsible for tan pants, boots and belt.
Drug free workplace no exceptions.
Background checks; PA State Police, FBI, child abuse & criminal attest form (please disclose any issues).
Shifts M – F 05:45 until route / job completion. Weekends possible with weather and seasonal demand.

Position compensation:
Seasonal full time hourly (non-exempt).
Weekly pay period with direct deposit available (Fridays).

Tree Groundsman

We are searching for a skilled tree groundsman to join our landscaping company. The tree groundsman’s duties include reporting to the foreman, assisting arborists, collecting and piling branches, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring hazard-free work areas. You should be able to work with a variety of crew members.

To be successful as a tree groundsman, you should be in good physical condition and able to work well with other team members. Outstanding tree groundsmen should be able to carry out instructions efficiently and complete all maintenance tasks to the highest standard.

Tree Groundsman Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman.
  • Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
  • Assisting Arborists with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposals.
  • Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.
  • Safely using tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.
  • Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
  • Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
  • Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
  • Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
  • Adhering to company and environmental regulations at all times.

Tree Groundsman Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
  • Good physical strength, fitness, vision, and hearing.
  • The ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop.
  • The ability to transport heavy items.
  • Excellent balance and depth perception.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • The willingness to work during unfavorable weather conditions.
  • A positive attitude.
